Fr. Javier Melloni Ribas, SJ |
|
Javier Melloni Ribas has a degree in Theology and Master in Cultural Anthropology. Member of Cristianisme i Justícia and professor on Spiritual Theology in the Faculty of Theology of Barcelona (Spain). He lives in the Spiritual Center of St Ignatius Cave in Manresa. Specialized on Ignatian Spirituality and Interfaith Spirituality, he has done several sojourns in India. He has written some books. Amoung them: La mistagogía de los Ejercicios Espirituales de San Ignacio (Mensajero-Sal Terrae 2001); El Uno en lo múltiple. Aproximación a la diversidad y unidad de las religiones ("The One in the Many. Fr. José García de Castro, SJ |
|
José García de Castro studied Philosophy and Linguistics in Salamanca University (1987-1992) where completed his Doctorate on Spiritual Diary and letters of Ignatius of Loyola. He got his Theology Degree at Comillas University. Since 2011 he has been teaching Spiritual Theology at Comillas University, focusing on First History of the Society of Jesus, Ignatius of Loyola and Ignatian Theology.
José García de Castro is now the Director of Máster IGNATIANA. He is working on the Sources of the Jesuits and Society of Jesús and is very interested on Ignatius Loyola and his First Companions and has published some articles about them

Mrs. Marlene Marburg PhD |
|
Marlene Marburg PhD is the Director of Student Formation at Sentir College of Spiritual Formation, University of Divinity (Melbourne, Australia). She is a spiritual director, giver of the Spiritual Exercises, formator and poet. She brings to her work a background in medical imaging, education and family life. Marlene companions people from the perspective that all of life is an invitation to wholeness.
Marlene's doctoral thesis is entitled Poetry and Grace: An Autoethnography which Explores Writing Poetry as Prayer in the Context of Ignatian Spirituality. This thesis was the first to take seriously the use of poetry as a way of making the Spiritual Exercises. In this conference, her focus is on the use of oral and written language as prayer and process of growing God- and self-awareness through engagement with the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius. |

Fr. Cecil Azzopardi, SJ. |
|
Cecil Azzopardi was born in Malta and joined the Jesuits in 1960. In 1963, Cecil was missioned to India where he continued studies and Jesuit formation, being ordained a priest in 1972. Most of his ministry as a priest has been in formation and spiritual direction. He was director of Novices for 10 years, and after a stint as Executive Assistant (Socius) to the Provincial for 8 years, he founded a Spirituality Center, ‘Jeevan Dhara’ [i.e. ‘Streams of living Water’] in West Bengal, India. There for five years, he organized retreats, seminars, and courses for the formation of clergy, religious, and laity. In 1996 He was entrusted with the responsibility as Director of Jesuit Tertians, first at St. Stanislaus College, Sitagarha in Jharkhand and then at Arrupe Institute in Goa. Since 2005, he has been at ‘Collegio Internazionale del Gesù’, Rome, as a spiritual guide and mentor to Jesuit Scholastics who are studying theology at the Gregorian University in preparation for their Priestly Ordination.
In the meantime, Cecil has also directed retreats in India, Taiwan, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, Spain, Italy, and Malta. His 42 years in India has helped him become very sensitive to cultural differences, which is a precious asset in personal accompaniment. What strongly animates him while accompanying others in their unfolding journey towards fullness of life is his desire to help set free the liberating presence of God present in their lives. |

Mrs. Bernadette Miles
|

Bernadette Miles is the Coursework Coordinator at Sentir College of Spiritual Formation, University of Divinity (Australia), which specializes in post-graduate studies in the field of spiritual direction and Ignatian Spirituality. Bernadette trained in spiritual direction and theology after twenty years of computer consulting and business management and has a special interest in formation of apostolic leadership and applying the concepts of Ignatian Spirituality to Organizational Development.
Having recently completed her Masters in Organizational Dynamics, Bernadette is currently undertaking PhD research exploring the contribution spiritual direction in the Ignatian tradition can make to leadership and organizational development. |

Fr. Geoffrey (Monty) Williams, SJ |
|
Monty Williams (B.A.; M.A.; M.Div.; Ph.D.) is an English Canadian Jesuit currently teaching at Regis College at the University of Toronto. He was born in Guyana, South America and moved to Canada to enter the Jesuits in 1967. He was ordained a priest in 1977, and completed his doctoral studies in English Literature at the University of Toronto in 1985. Since then he has taught at Campion College, University of Regina, was Assistant to the Provincial, Formation director, in charge of the 9 month training programme at Loyola House, Guelph, and is now at Regis College at the University of Toronto where he teaches courses on spirituality.
His work in spirituality and direction started in his formation as a Jesuit in the early seventies. In the summers he can usually be found giving retreats and workshops throughout Europe, Australia, Asia and North America. His work included teaching workshops, retreat and spiritual direction, and facilitation in discernment.
His areas of interest include Christian Spirituality (with a focus on Ignatian Spirituality and The Spiritual Exercises), Comparative Spirituality with an interest in Buddhism and Shamanism, Spiritual Direction, Spirituality and Post-modernism, Poetry and Prose and contemporary Cultural Studies. He is the author of The Gift of Spiritual Intimacy, Finding God in the Dark and Stepping Into Mystery. |

Fr. Elton Fernandes, SJ |

Elton Fernandes is a Jesuit from Toronto, Canada. He worked as a physiotherapist before entering the Jesuits in 1999. From 2002 to 2008, Elton lived in Taiwan where he studied Chinese language and then theology. In 2009, he received a licentiate degree in spirituality from Regis College in Toronto. More recently, he has been working in Vancouver, Canada teaching Ignatian spirituality at St. Mark's College, giving retreats and training lay people to give the Spiritual Exercises. In 2014, he joins the team in Xavier House, Hong Kong. |

Stephen Tong has been Director of Xavier Retreat House since 2004. This mission from the Society of Jesus is related to spiritual formation to both religious and lay people. He was born and brought up in Macau. After joinng the Society of Jesus in 1990 and finishing his novitiate formation in Singapore, he studied philosophy in Manila and theology in Hong Kong. He was ordained priest in the year 2000. He continued and completed his studies in theology and spirituality in Boston in 2001. |

Monica Wong is a Canossian Sister. She was born and educated in Hong Kong. She taught religious and moral education, art & design in Canossian Schools and also gave counseling to students. Monica graduated from Gregorian University in Rome (MA). She also got Certificate in Ignatian Spirituality in Manila Ignatian Spirituality Centre, Diploma in Spiritual Direction in Tao Feng Shan Christian Centre and Sydney Spiritual Formation. Now she serves at Honeyville Canossian Retreat House as spiritual director and directing spiritual formation programme. She loves to use poetry, drawings and music to enter the heart and spirits of Ignatian Spirituality. |

Sr. Susanna Yeung |

Susanna Yeung is a sister of Canossian Daughters of Charity since 1967. She graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and has been in education for more than twenty years till 2003. From 1993 Suzanna followed a series of programs in spirituality and received training for retreat direction which qualified her as spiritual director and Retreat Director of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. Her sources of spiritual formation, besides that of her religious family, include the Institute of Spirituality of the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, Italy, St. Beuno’s Spirituality Centre, North Wales, UK, Loyola House, Guelph & Regis College, University of Toronto, Canada and Sadhana Institute, Lonavla, India. Suzanna is currently serving as Spiritual/Retreat Director both in Hong Kong and in the Mainland of China. |

Sr. Catalina Yin |

Catalina Yin is sister of Mercedarian Missionary of Berriz. She is an associate professor of the Fu Jen Catholic University Holistic Education Center since 1999. She is also lector and spiritual director of training courses in Ignatian Spirituality at Taipei Ignatian Spirituality Center since 2007. From 2012, she also teaches program in Spirituality at Fu Jen Faculty of Theology of St. Robert Bellarmine. Her former works included research assistant at Fu Jen Catholic University Social Cultural Research Center and director of Fu Jen Catholic University Student Counseling Center. Her areas of teaching are: philosophy of life, Catholic spirituality themes, personality development and spiritual growth, psychological and spiritual integration related courses. |

Dr. Éadaoin K P HUI C.L.C. has been in leadership positions in HK and the World CLC Executive Council since the 1980s, contributing to CLC development and ministries as President and a core member. She is sent by CLC to serve as Supervisor of Marymount Schools. As a HKU Academic, she is internationally known for her research in forgiveness and school guidance. As an Educational Psychologist, she serves the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong as the Consultant to its Educational Psychology Service.
Fr. Seán Ó Cearbhalláin S.J. has been working with the CLC since 1975 and has been the Ecclesiastical Assistant to CLC (HK) since 1978. A theologian and writer, he has given the Spiritual Exercises to many CLC members and others, both lay and religious.
Mrs. Jennie Chor Chan Chui-yuk, BBS, former Deputy Commissioner for Labour for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, joined the CLC in 1973 and has taken up leadership roles in the core ministries. She has been serving as spiritual guide for a number of small CLC communities and has also been sent by CLC (HK) to serve as School Manager for the two Marymount schools since CLC took up school sponsorship in 1997. She is currently serving on the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Catholic Advisory Council and the Hong Kong Catholic Diocesan Commission for the Permanent Diaconate.
Mr. Joseph H. C. CHOR C.L.C. joined the CLC in 1972 while studying in HKU. Since then, he has served two terms as President of CLC (HK). He is now the Director of Leunis Institute of CLC (HK) and is responsible for collaboration between CLC and the Society of Jesus in Hong Kong. On the parish level, he has been serving as the Vice Convenor of the Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist in the Cathedral. |

Michael Hansen, SJ, is a Jesuit of the Australian Province. He is a retreat director, speaker, spiritual formator, writer and spiritual director on the retreat team at the Campion Centre of Ignatian Spirituality in Victoria, Australia. He is the author of several works, including the award winning The First Spiritual Exercises, The Manual for the First Spiritual Exercises, The Gospels for Prayer and The Land of Walking Trees: Meditations for the Seriously Ill. Michael has given FSE training workshops in Australia, Malaysia, Los Angeles, New York.
Rachel McLoughlin is the coordinator of the retreat giving team at the Campion Centre of Ignatian Spirituality in Victoria, Australia. She is a retreat giver, speaker, physiotherapist and Ignatian spiritual director and formator. Long time leader in CLC and Magis, she works as Victorian, South Australian and West Australian co-ordinator of the FSE. Rachel has extensive experience of giving the FSE to schools, parishes, youth, universities, the ill, Ignatian religious and Ignatian workers.
Frances Tilly is a pastoral associate of Our Lady of the Way Jesuit parish in North Sydney, Australia. She is an Ignatian spiritual director, retreat giver and FSE animator. She works as the New South Wales co-ordinator of the FSE. Frances has long experience giving the FSE in parishes, to school leaders and catholic leaders in various ministries. She is married with three adult children.

Mr. Gong Yan |

Mr. Gong Yan was born in 1974 in northern China. From 2001 to 2009 he was under the formation of a religious order. In 2008, he began to give individual and group retreats, and started to offer psycho-spiritual integration courses in 2010. He obtained the qualification to be a psychological counselor in China in 2011 and joined the Spiritual Direction Formation in 2012. He started the Interior Tai Chi Team in 2013. He currently focuses on giving courses of holistic integration and training their facilitators. He is very active to serve in social institutions and church groups. |
